Pillow Dress

Presenting the first post of Tuesday's Applesauce Day! Every Tuesday I'll post about some cool thing I learned how to do this week, and my results! This week, I learned how to make a REALLY cute dress out of an old pillowcase I wasn't using anymore! What can I say? I'm a product of my generation... recycling all the time and whatnot.

So here's the color of the pillowcase... Kind of reminiscent of toothpaste. Mmm... Oral hygiene is my personal fave.












Now you should know that I'm HORRIBLE at sewing, so the real undertaking here is learning how to sew more than sewing a weird dress... I followed the directions I found on a website, and BA-DA-BING!

The last thing I sewed ended up being too small for even a backstreet boy to wear.

BUT I WILL LEARN!

Detail of the top. The straps are actually little ribbons! And there is a ruffle at the top of the front and the back... I learned how to use elastic to make it!

I might wear it to school tomorrow with this cute little belt!

Ps, the title, Tuesday is Applesauce Day, is just a funny phrase from high school that was apart of the lunch menu. I thought it was hysterical for some reason, and it just kind of stuck with me! And it provided a day of the week to post on, hehe...
