Pokemon Snuggie

You heard right. A Pokemon Snuggie. The 90's and the 21st Century have officially tied the knot.

For this adventure in felt-filled sewing, I decided to go with using Gengar as my model. It's my boyfriend's favorite Pokemon, so I get sewing points, AND girlfriend points out of this project! That's what we call a win-win, my friends.

Pokemon Number 094: Gengar

I bought 2.5 yards of purple fleece, and a few felt squares of accent colors. Completely disregarding any form of pattern or instruction, I dove right in. Silly Brittany, patterns are for beginners!

Aaand this is why I am still a beginner. I should have followed a pattern, but it's ok, for a first attempt, this is very fixable! (I think...)

I wanted to put a hood on it, so I could detail the Snuggie to look like a Gengar. Besides learning the importance of patterns, I also learned how to make a hood. It's easy, actually!

(Just sew up the back and attach to robe!)

So anyway, sewed the hood on and made the ears. Lookin' cute so far! And ohgaimash it's SO WARM. I'm persperatin' in here!

Sew on the other embellishments, and I even found a good use out of the big neckline! Now it looks like Gengar ate me! BRILLIANT!

And we're done here! I'm happy to say I've already gotten a few requests for other Pokemon! I also now have a pattern for the Snuggie, so gaping necklines won't be an issue anymore.

And as for the boyfriend, he loves it!
Also, I added little claws in this last pic.

Want to make your own Snuggie? It's easy! Here's how! Snuggies A-Go-Go!

Until next week! Be safe, healthy, and blessed!
